What number styles are supported?

Four styles are supported: Decimal (plain number), Currency (with currency symbol), Percent (the input value treated as a raw percentage, e.g., 75 → 75%), and Scientific (exponential notation like 1.23e+6).

How does the Currency style work?

When Currency style is selected, a currency dropdown appears. Choose a currency code (USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, KRW, CNY) and the Intl.NumberFormat API formats the number with the correct symbol and placement for the chosen locale. For example, 1234.5 in en-US with USD gives $1,234.50.

Why does the Percent style divide by 100?

The browser's Intl.NumberFormat percent style multiplies the input by 100 internally (0.75 → 75%). To keep the input intuitive (enter 75 to see 75%), this tool divides your input by 100 before passing it to the formatter.

What is the Grouping Separator toggle?

Most locales use a character to separate groups of thousands (e.g., 1,000,000 in en-US or 1.000.000 in de-DE). Turning off Use Grouping Separator removes these, useful when you want a plain number like 1000000.

Is this tool free and private?

Yes. Number formatting runs entirely in your browser using the built-in Intl.NumberFormat API — no data is sent to any server.
